Yes, we’ve finally come to terms with the fact that Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor’s) mum is the iconic Sally Webster from Corrie and we know we’ve seen Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) in Derry Girls but did you realise Prince Friederich has also starred in a pretty famous film?
Twitter has gone into meltdown after realising that Prince Friederich, played by Freddie Stroma, is also the handsome British actor who played Cormac McLaggen in the Harry Potter film series.
As avid HP fans will know well, he was in Gryffindor house and was one year above the famous Harry Potter. Cormac is the rather arrogant chap who made aggressive advances on Hermione Granger in the film. He also is that guy who threw up on Severus Snape’s shoes at the Slug Club party, and amassed a legion of HP fan enemies when he ceremoniously knocked Harry Potter off his broomstick during a Quidditch game. Remember him now?
You’d be forgiven for missing this crossover; his turn in Bridgerton is quite the opposite of the role he played in Harry Potter.
In the period drama, he’s the charming European nephew of Queen Charlotte, who is touted as the perfect suitor for Daphne Bridgerton.
Freddie, 34, has also played Adam Cromwell on Lifetime’s UnREAL, H.G. Wells on ABC’s Time After Time, and Luke in Pitch Perfect, so if you found him rather familiar looking, you weren’t wrong.
Still hooked on Bridgerton and desperate for season 2? You’re in luck; the producers have confirmed there will be another season of the Netflix hit coming. We’re counting down the days.
